What do you think about tattoos?

Would you take this guy seriously?

A lot of people have prejudices about tattooed people, but why?

I want to figure out what makes tattoos so bad for some people. Personally, I don’t really judge people by that sort of thing, because I myself have a tattoo and piercings and as far as I know…I’m not some sort of delinquent. I can see where some people come from though, when you look at people like that guy in Lady Gaga’s video. Not all people with tattoos are in gangs…geez. Is there a certain type of tattoo that puts others off, you think? One thing that I don’t understand, as well, is why are tattoos unprofessional? I don’t get why I should have to worry about covering up a tattoo on my wrist, for example, when meeting employers, or why I would need to hide more extravagant tattoos to be able to get a job. There are some very intelligent people with large, scary tattoos…I’m sure.

Why do some people frown upon others who express themselves through art…on their skin? Do any of you have theories about this?

I can appreciate larger, more intense tattoos, but personally I prefer more discreet and girly ones ( because those are the ones I consider getting! I would never have the guts to get a full sleeve, although I sometimes think about it.)

I found this tumblr, it’s really neet…it’s all girly tattoos, but not just the small discreet ones that I like, theres also the big awesome ones!

I also really love literary tattoos, and I’m even thinking of getting a small homage to Harry Potter soon, in the form of a tattoo. Guess what I’ll be getting?! …. 9 3/4

* I really needed to vent about the whole tattoo situation, because I heard this lady on the street the other day saying “oh my! Look at those tattoos, it must be hard….”, about this guy with large tattoos. It sort of bothered me. mleh
